Notes
If you have the time and desire to enhance the flavor, consider dusting the steak with flour and lightly browning each side in a frying pan with butter before adding it to the slow cooker. However, if you prefer a quick and effortless recipe, simply toss the ingredients into the crock pot and let it do the work for you!
To thicken your gravy, add cornstarch to it. In the last stages of cooking, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 or 3 tablespoons of cold water to a small bowl and whisk. Then pour it into your crockpot. You may also use flour instead, but it should be mixed with water beforehand.
To make this in the oven, use a large and deep baking dish, such as a 9 x 13 dish. Before layering the ingredients as per the recipe, coat the baking dish with cooking spray. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 2 hours or until the cube steak is tender.
