These Slow Cooker Smothered Meatballs are a comforting, no-fuss dinner made with frozen meatballs, peppers, and onions simmered in a rich brown gravy. Everything cooks low and slow for a tender, flavor-packed meal that’s perfect over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
Add meatballs, green peppers, and onions to the slow cooker and mix together.
In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, and gravy mix. Pour over the meatballs and veggies.
Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours
In a bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Then pour it over everything and mix until combined. Cook for 20-30 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice and enjoy!
Notes
Whisk the gravy mixture until smooth before pouring it into the slow cooker.
Add the cornstarch slurry during the last 20 to 30 minutes of cooking.
Cook on low when possible for the most tender meatballs and best flavor.
If the gravy is too thin, stir in an additional cornstarch slurry and continue cooking until thickened.
