This simple recipe for crock pot chicken and gravy combines chicken, cream of chicken soup, and gravy packets in the slow cooker for a delicious, low-effort meal the whole family will enjoy.
Add soup, gravy, black pepper, onion powder, and water in a large bowl. Whisk until well combined. Then, pour over the chicken.
Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
Shred the chicken with two forks in the Crock Pot. Mix until chicken is coated in gravy.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes, and enjoy!
Notes
Cooking the chicken on low for a longer amount of time ensures that it is tender, juicy, and falls apart when you shred it. It’s also less likely to overcook on low.
Always check the temperature of your chicken before serving. The safe internal temperature for chicken is 165 degrees Farhenheit.
Make this dish creamier by using milk instead of water. You can also use sour cream or Greek yogurt instead.
