Create this easy slow cooker chicken and stuffing recipe with a few simple ingredients from the grocery store and less than 10 minutes to put it together. The result is a comforting meal that tastes like your favorite holiday.
Add sage, black pepper, salt, and onion powder to a small bowl. Mix until well combined. Sprinkle over both sides of the chicken and add to a 6-quart slow cooker.
Top the chicken with stuffing, green beans, celery, and onion.
In a medium bowl, add chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream. Mix until well combined. Then, pour over the stuffing and chicken. (Do Not Mix)
Cover and cook on high for about 3½ to 4½ hours or low for 6-7 hours.
Remove chicken and gently stir to combine stuffing and fluff it up.
Serve stuffing over chicken, and enjoy!
Notes
Trim excess fat from the chicken and fillet it to ensure it cooks evenly.
If your stuffing looks too wet and mushy, remove the lid from the crock pot for the last 30 minutes of cook time so the moisture evaporates. This will help crisp the stuffing and make it fluffy, not mushy.
Add your favorite ingredients, like dried cranberries or sausage, to the stuffing to make it the way your family likes. Be sure to use a precooked “brown and serve” sausage to avoid any issues with undercooked meat.
