Enjoy tender Crock Pot Cube Steak cooked low and slow in a rich mushroom and onion gravy. The prep takes just 10 minutes, and it’s perfect over noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes for a comforting weeknight dinner the whole family will love.
In a 6-quart crock pot, add half the onions on the bottom and place cube steaks on top.
In a medium bowl, add au jus gravy mix, mushroom soup, beef broth, black pepper, garlic, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined and pour over cube steaks.
Top with remaining onions and mushrooms.
Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
Serve over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes, and enjoy!
Notes
Use condensed cream of mushroom soup, not regular prepared soup, to keep the gravy thick and rich.
Arrange the onions under and over the steaks to add flavor and help prevent the meat from sitting directly on the crock pot insert.
Cook the cube steak on low when possible so the connective tissue has time to break down and become tender.
If the gravy is too thin at the end of cooking, stir in a small cornstarch slurry and cook on high until thickened.
