I don’t know what it is about Ritz crackers, but the buttery crunch that they add to any casserole is just so delicious. That is definitely one of the things that make this recipe my favorite slow cooker meal. This Slow Cooker Chicken Casserole with Ritz Crackers is a hearty dinner with a creamy texture, and it is packed full of tasty flavors.

One of the best things about this meal is how easy it is to make. You will do all of the prep in the morning, and it will be ready to enjoy when it is time for dinner. You start by adding your cream soups and your sour cream into the slow cooker and mix them with the black pepper. Then you will add your chicken and coat it with the sauce. Then you will mix your crushed Ritz with all of your other seasonings and spread it over the top (this is my favorite part!). After that, the hardest part is just waiting for it to be ready to enjoy!

Why You’ll Love This Slow Cooker Ritz Cracker Chicken

    • It is creamy, filling, and delicious.
    • The zesty, buttery, crunchy Ritz topping is irresistible.
    • It is a slow cooker meal that is very simple to make.
    • This is a kid-friendly recipe that your entire family will enjoy.
    • The sour cream and soup base give it the perfect texture.

What to Serve/Pair with Your Ritz Cracker Chicken

Because this Ritz Chicken is so hearty, I like to serve it with something light. One of my favorite things to pair with it are roasted carrots or cheesy ranch potatoes. These are tasty and are sweet enough that your kids won’t even realize that they are eating a veggie. I also like to serve with a side of breadsticks or rolls. They are delicious dipped in the juice from the slow cooker. You won’t even need butter!

Just about any dessert will pair well with this slow cooker Ritz chicken. Some of my favorites are classics like chocolate chip cookies, strawberry shortcake, or even a peach cobbler.

    Popular Substitutions & Additions

    • You can use reduced-fat sour cream or even plain Greek yogurt.
    • If you don’t like mushrooms, you can substitute cream of celery for the cream of mushroom soup.

How To Reheat & Store Slow Cooker Ritz Cracker Chicken

This slow cooker Ritz chicken will last for up to 3 days in the fridge. Make sure that it is completely covered or sealed in an airtight container.

To reheat leftover slow cooker Ritz chicken, divide it into individual servings, and microwave each serving for 2 minutes, or until warm, stirring halfway through (microwave times may vary). If you have a large batch to reheat, you can heat it in the slow cooker as directed above or in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
