This sweet slow-cooker ham makes a great entree for a family meal. In our family, it has become an Easter dinner tradition that everyone looks forward to! I love how easy it is to get it all in the slow cooker and let it cook throughout the day, and then it is ready to go when it is time for dinner. Your family will love the sweet and salty combination of flavors that make it impossible not to get seconds (and thirds) of this tasty ham.

Saying that this slow cooker ham is simple to make is an understatement! You simply pour the pineapple juice into the slow cooker, then coat your ham in the dijon mustard and add it in with the pineapple juice. Mix the other dry ingredients together and spread them over the ham, then top with the pineapple. After that, the hardest part is waiting for it to be ready! Your house will smell amazing in the meantime.

Why You’ll Love This Pineapple Glaze Ham

    • It’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors.
    • It is made in the slow cooker, so all of the work is done ahead of time.
    • Honestly It pairs well with just about anything.
    • It is a dinner entree that your entire family will enjoy.

    Ingredients

    • Spiral Cut Ham
    • Dijon mustard
    • Crushed Pineapple
    • Spices - Brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

How To Make Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

    1. Pour juice from crushed pineapple into the slow cooker.
    2. Coat ham with Dijon mustard and place in the slow cooker.
    3. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground ginger in a medium bowl. Mix and sprinkle it over the ham.
    4. Pour crushed pineapple over the ham and brown sugar mixture.
    5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on (high for 2½ to 3½) hours or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees.
    6. When done cooking, remove the ham, mix all the juices together, and pour over the ham before serving.

What to Serve/Pair with Your Pineapple Glaze Ham

This ham makes a perfect entree for a family meal. Of course, with any entree, you need side items to go with it. Your family will love these Scalloped Potatoes, and they pair perfectly with this ham. For a veggie, go with these Honey Glazed Carrots. The brown sugar flavor and sweetness of the carrots pair very well with the pineapple ham.

Looking for a dessert to follow your ham? One of my favorite springtime treats is these Carrot Cake Whoopie Pies. For something a little more refreshing, try this Raspberry Cream Pie.

    Popular Substitutions & Additions

    • If you want to add a little spice, use spicy mustard in place of the dijon mustard. You will still have sweetness from the pineapple and brown sugar.
    • You can crush your own pineapple instead of using canned pineapple if that is your preference. Be sure to save the juice to have it to pour into the slow cooker.

    How To Reheat & Store

This slow cooker ham is a very tasty leftover. If stored in a sealed, air-tight container in the fridge, it will last for up to 3 days. To reheat, transfer your ham to an oven-safe dish and loosely cover it with foil. Bake at 275 degrees for 10 minutes per pound. This method will keep your ham from drying out.

You can also freeze any leftovers that you have of this slow cooker ham. Pre-slice the ham, then transfer it into an air-tight, freezer-safe container. It will last for up to 6 weeks in the freezer. When you are ready to enjoy it, thaw it completely in the fridge, then heat as directed above.

    FAQs

How will I know that my ham is completely cooked?

Use a meat thermometer and check the temperature of your ham to see if it is cooked. A thoroughly cooked ham will reach 140 degrees.

Can I mix the spices in advance and have them ready to go?

Sure! You can mix your spices together and keep them in a sealed container until you are ready to use them on your ham.

Do I need to line my slow cooker?

You don’t technically have to line it. You can use nonstick cooking spray, but I recommend lining it for easier cleanup
